Dear Diane,
Try looking at CODEPINK's website (specifically the pressroom) if you are indeed searching for information on pink presence at the DNC. About 18 stories down is where the DNC coverage starts- take a look and read all about the DNC coverage of CODEPINK (http://www.codepinkalert.org/article.php?list=type&type=378)

Additionally, when googling 'CODEPINK DNC' we found quite a few articles about the pink presence in Denver...there was a little bit of sifting to be done (such is the nature of google), but it was there.

I looked on google but could not find any pictures of raising a ruckus at the DNC, only the RNC.

You say you are non partisan. Why then do you chant "Bust McCain" but "Move Obama" ??
The partisan message is clear, however you justify it.

To Jessica Neelyrn - your comment about needing to have a war to get peace made me smile. It is true that the US goes to war A LOT for "freedom" - usually this means forcing people from other nations to accept the US vision of freedom whether they like it or not - but you should remember, Jessica, that many countries have achieved their freedom just fine, thank you, without going to war themselves or needing your help to do it. Peace is obtained through strength, yes - but not always through aggression. Read your history.

Canada is a great example of this. We managed to get our independence from England through negotiation and treaty. And when the US attacked Canada in 1812 to try to annex our country and steal our territory, we kicked your butts quite soundly. The War of 1812 is perhaps not taught in US schools, whether that is because the US lost or because teachers are too busy teaching creationism, I can only speculate. Come to think about it, I believe we burned down the White House on that occasion.... but I digress.

And to Sara - I totally agree with your comments about Palin's politics. She is objectionable on so many levels - her anti-choice stand is only one. It would be nice to hear some intelligent debate on the issues instead of personal comments about her appearance, children, etc, whether positive or negative. The fact that she is a woman and mother is NOT what is important. The fact that she is a right-wing nut job like so many in the Republican party IS.

And women's rights are human rights, by the way. Congrats to CodePink for getting the message out.

i was most fortunate to meet Jodie Evans and Medea Benjamin at the Mercury Cafe in Denver (thank you Susan Harman) i told them i was proud of them and supported their efforts ... just like i supported Jane Fonda's efforts to stop the bombing of the dams above Hanoi...where Operations like Rolling Thunder perpetrated by the likes of Crash McMurder were about to drop their deadly bombs onto the dams and unleash floods that would kill hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. ON a country who did not declare war on the USA, the ubiquitous invader... Jodi and Medea follow in her footsteps and should be enshrined in a museum of Peace Activists.
i deplor the language of some on this thread and suspect REpublican TRolls are in the compound. Those comments should be purged.
BTW the Mercury Cafe is really not to be missed if you are in Denver. They are an Organic, Home Grown, Fair Trade restauant as well as CP HdQtrs... and the Elk Bean and Cheese enchilada is to die for!

Youngstown's post was clearly a plant meant to cast aspersions on the site and/or divert from the important topics at hand. With this intent it reached for some of the worst possible comments. It should be deleted/ignored.

Aside from this - I turned on my TV 2 nights ago and then immediately turned my back as I returned momentarily to my computer. I realized shortly that I felt extremely uneasy and troubled. I realized that I was suddenly conjuring up images of the Coliseum where gladiators and Christians fought beasts for favor and their lives respectively. I turned to see what in the world had made me summon up these thoughts, feelings and visuals. I was surprised and then sadly cognizant of the fact that this was the Republican National Convention on TV. The vituperative nature of the spectacle came as a shock even though I've felt for quite some time that "Republicans" are not the moral compass they would have us believe. Nor do I believe that they are all this way but this - this display of viciousness seemed beyond what they would stoop to.

I'm embarassed for the real Christians who may call themselves
Republicans - but after seeing this ugliness, I think it could be appropriate to use 'Republican' and 'Christian' as a slur to refer
to meanness and tunnel-visioned maliciousness.

CODEPINK believes wholeheartedly in democracy, but until we’ve (re)instated one here in this country—where all citizens, regardless of race, creed, color, religious or personal beliefs feel comfortable sharing their views without fear of retribution—we’re moderating your comments. We encourage jokes, ideas, healthy debate, engaged and well-meaning criticism, and of course any questions not already covered on our FAQ page.

Above is the policy _I_ found. While I have been proud of the actions of Code Pink at various times. I find the site administrator's messages to posters with differing view to sound very close-minded and defensive. I find nowhere in your policy mentioning "stupid" posts (This is an entirely subjective criterion, anyway.), and I certainly believe that the post by Youngstown Democrat does not fit the bill of "well-meaning criticism".

I guess I'd just have to say that I am disappointed by the way this forum is moderated. However, it is Code Pink's forum. Enjoy...

[...] Code Pink’s press release says they were given tickets by a GOP delegate; Co-founders Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans, who were given their tickets to the speech by a Republican delegate who was frustrated with the Republican party and Sarah Palin, caught the attention of Palin with their banners and shouting about 15 minutes into her speech.
