At 9 a.m. today (Tuesday), CODEPINK women, many dressed as construction workers, will be “building” a peace platform beginning at 1300 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. This platform will include priorities of “end the war,” “healthcare for all” “rebuild infrastructure” “invest in education.” We will build our vibrant platform — mounting boards reading each platform item onto a 15-foot pink fabric frame — up and down the mall, facing many hotels hosting delegates.

At 7:30 p.m., CODEPINK and other activist groups Courage to Resist, Global Exchange, Oil Change USA, Rainforest Action Network and the Ronald Reagan Home for the Criminally Insane will host the first of two “rallies” in “support” of Big Oil’s in-bed relationship with the Republicans. We’ll be outside a GOP party at Epic Entertainment, at 510 1st Ave. N Minneapolis, sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute. We’ll be Republican “delegates” wearing “Freedom Flags” (or oil company logos) and yellow “Support Our Oil Companies” ribbons will be rolling around in the millions of “Oily Dollars” given back to Republican candidates.
