Dear Rae, I have thought of you every day since your birthday and this diary is so wonderful. you inspire me every time you work for peace in the creative manner that you and so many of our pink sisters do. I remember when the beautiful young people from Iran came through the US by bicycle. How can anyone resist peace when we get to know each others people and countries through these exchanges. Bless you. PEACE IS SO HAPPENING! love,Eliz

Rae, I've been thinking of you so much during this remarkable journey. About a week ago, in the early evening, I went outside and saw the new moon of Kislev -- Rosh Hodesh -- already shining although the sun had just gone down. I wondered if you had had a chance to look at the new moon in Iran (at a different hour, of course) and felt connected to a sense of joy. After reading your account, which blazes with color and detail, I know that my intuition was right and that these are times of joy and learning for you. Our little blue planet needs many such journeys of dedication to peace if it is to remain blue and alive, not gray and dead from war. It seems to me that each day you are there is like a marvelous Persian rug with images of the beauty, sadness, and depth of Iran patterned in different ways. My blessings to you, Ariel and all on the Fellowship of Reconciliation on this historic and remarkable journey, as I greet the sabbath bride again tonight. Shabbat shalom, salaam.

Wow, Rae, that was amazing! You had so many contacts with Iranians of all kinds that I felt I was getting to know the country. Your blogs, combined with Medea's and Jodie's, combined with Leslie's and Jes's, and our visits to the Iranian DC office and meeting DC Iranian-Americans are building a strong conviction for me that we must push the Obama administration and the media to change our rhetoric. Do you plan on writing to the rabbi you met at the NYC airport? I would love to read your letter. Thank you for the care you put into your writing and for the poetic freedom you displayed.
