Uncategorized, War is SO over

It’s official: the U.S. is sending at least three brigades of troops to Afghanistan by summer. Defense Secretary Gates arrived in Afghanistan today and met with a lead U.S. commander David McKiernana, who has requested four additional brigades, including the one scheduled for January deployment, or 14,000 and 20,000 troops. The U.S. military has about 31,000 troops in Afghanistan already.

More troops means escalation and more war. And there is no good war. What can the peace movement do to stop this? Comment away!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW. I SAY LET THEM KILL EACH OTHER. ARE WE STILL LOOKING FOR, WMD????? WHEN IS IT GOING TO END? WE SHOULD BE LOOKING TO TAKE CARE OF OUR COUNTRY. WE CANT EVEN DO THAT, AND HERE WE ARE DOING SOME THING DUMB.

What is it the goal here to break the minds of every us soldier? Does our government think the US has an unending supply of health people to go and kill?

al-queda the organization that attacked us in 9/11 is still building up in the afghan-pak border. the only way to shut them down is by bringing in more us troops. the purpose of the military is to defend its nation. that is what we are doing. the comment helen above says about wmds is irrelevant. iraq was a mistake. there were no wmds. but afghanistan-pakistan border is where the heart of al-queda is at.

More violence begets more violence. It is a rule of the universe. We are increasing terrorism across the globe. It has to stop sometime.

The War of Terror on Terror does not work!

How do we stop our War of Terror on Terror???

Obama should know better, but he is going to maintain the status quo of warring.

Of course we need diplomacy & a political solution. We need to help the people of Afghanistan & Pakistan help themselves. This is not very sexy and does not help the defense industry, though.

We probably need civil disobedience and a general education of the American people. Peace needs to be in. CODEPINK has its work cut out for it still.
