Many thousands more were injured and made homeless, the land and water of Gaza have been poisoned by DIME bombs, white phosphorus and other toxins, and the infrastructure including 3 UN schools has been blasted and destroyed. It is not that Palestinian lives are MORE important than Israelis' -- but they ARE equally important and they have been killed and traumatized on a horrific scale. Less than 10 Israeli civilians were killed by Hamas' rockets over a period of years. Hamas has fired rockets that have resulted in the death of 2 Israelis while the Israelis killed over 1,300 Gazans, 700 of them innocent civilians. Its not a war in Palestine any more, its just Israel slaugtering with absolutely no deterrent that can keep them in check. Only pathological and ignorant individuals distort the truth to suit their "heritage" - for the entire world realizes the grave injustice of the 42-year long brutal Israeli military occupation. It is abusrd to blame the diplomatic impasse in the Middle East on Hamas. It should only be supported for just practices and their safe and peace path toward liberty. Unfortunately, Isreal does not show those ideals that we (America) are to protect and promote.
