Pink Action at the Fireworks on the Marina
Friday, July 4th 2008 Starts at 5 PMGather petition signatures from the 80,000 people expected at the Berkeley Marina to view the fireworks! Dress in hot and wild pink, and bring facepaints, music, signs. We’ll hand out our “make out not war” stickers for everyone who signs the "recruiters away from schools" zoning initiative petition!

Friday, July 4th 2008 10 AMPEACE CONTINGENT IN WILLITS 4TH OF JULY PARADE!
Join a peace contingent in the Willits 4th of July Parade, sponsored by CODEPINK Willits, Veterans for Peace, and Friday peace vigilers. The contingent’s theme is “Dissent is As American As Apple Pie.”
We will be pulling wagons with two giant papier mache pies: one is peach (ImPeachment IS on the Table), and the other apple (Dissent Is As American As Apple Pie). Come with your rolling pins (“Roll Up Your Sleeves for Peace”). Wear pink, bring positive signs.
Rock the Party: Democratic National Convention

Celebrate Independence Day with CODEPINK
Friday, July 4th 2008 9 am on!Celebrate Independence Day with CODEPINK! This year we'll be bringing the messages "Dissent is Patriotic" and "I Miss America" to the thousands of residents and tourists lined up along the parade route. Join us any time after 9 am at 11th and Constitution, on the shady side of the street (the Smithsonian side). We may also be watching the fireworks.
Summer Time Salon
Tuesday, July 8th 2008 7 pmThis week, at the Pink House, our own local Terrilee, blogger, letter writer, and DJ extraordinaire will be introducing us to the Children of Chernobyl program, which brings kids from the area irradiated by the Chernobyl disaster to the US for a few weeks each summer for fresh food and free dental care. If you have clean, well cared for, but unwanted clothes, in any size, please bring them. Each child goes home with a suitcase full of donated clothes for their family.

This is the 40th year that Norman has led the reading of the documents. Bring a picnic and join the celebration of our civil liberties.
Southampton Parade
Friday, July 4th 2008 10 AMCODEPINK Long Island will once again be marching in the Southampton 4th of July Parade as Pink Statues of Liberty. In keeping with the "theme" of the parade this year which is the Star Spangled Banner we will hold a banner that says O SAY CAN YOU SEE and then have individual signs that say NO MORE BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR - NO MORE ROCKETS RED GLARE - NO MORE TORTURE - NO MORE WAR etc.
Peace Contingent on 4th of July
Friday, July 4th 2008 1 PMCODEPINK will march in the peace contingent with other activists. Two pinkers will be dressed in "blowup" costumes at Mr. Bloated Military Budget and Ms. Corporate America. Others will carry signs about the military budget. A fundraiser for Oregon Food Bank follows the parade.

Create a “Palette for Peace.” Decorate a wooden artist’s palette* by gluing, painting, scribbling, stamping- whatever - your dreams/thoughts/visions for a world at peace. Express you commitment to refocusing all of our nation’s resources on activities that affirm rather than destroy life.
Thousands upon thousands of “Palettes for Peace” (with YOUR help) will be delivered to the next President-elect in November 2008, expressing our mandate for a change in the course of our nation’s priorities. In our wildest imaginations we envision a huge art exhibit of the palettes, a virtual on-line art exhibit, or perhaps the publication of a book.
